When is the library open?

The library is open virtually 24/7 through the website.

The library space is open: Monday-Friday from 7:45-4:15.

How many items can I check out and when are they due?

You may check out 3 items at a time.

You may have the items for 3 weeks and then renew 2 more times, unless someone has placed a hold on the book. Then the book must returned at the end of that checkout cycle.

Due to their popularity, graphic novels and mangas cannot be renewed.

Can I check out magazines?

Yes! You may take one magazine at a time for one 2 week checkout. There is a plastic envelope to protect the magazine that you need to get at the circulation desk. The magazines are in the holders next to the side doors. The most recent issues are across from the circulation desk.

How do I see what books are available in the library?

On the library website, click on the "Hendrick Library Catalog Search" link. Otherwise, you can also go to the red LS2 Hendrick card catalog button found in Library Digital Resources on your webdesk.

Can I place a hold on a book?

Yes, login to your webdesk and find the Library Digital Resources folder.  Click the red LS2 button.  Make sure you are logged in.  Search for your book and click the orange hold button to place a hold.

What if I have an overdue item?

We do not charge late fees, however, you must return overdue items before new items can be checked out. LS2 email messages will go out to parents and students to remind you.

What if I have lost or damaged my book?

Lost or damaged books may be paid for by cash in the library.

We can also add your fee to the Rycor system in order to pay with a credit card. Please email or talk to Mrs. White directly to arrange this option.

How do I find out about events in the library?

There are 4 ways:

  1. Check the library windows
  2. Pay attention to announcements
  3. Follow the library on Instagram @hms_hawkslibrary
  4. Check the cafeteria t.v.s
